C. Lawrence Stagg (Retired)

Personal Background

Larry Stagg has been a resident of Tampa since the early 40’s back when they still had a trolley car running down Grand Central Avenue (now known to us as Kennedy Boulevard). He graduated from Gorrie Elementary School, Wilson Jr. High School and Plant High School then attended The University of Florida where he obtained a degree in journalism and communication, a law degree and a deep passion for the Gators. He returned to Tampa in 1959. He served as Assistant County Solicitor and State Attorney from 1961 to 1963, and Chief Assistant from 1963 to 1964. In 1988, Larry served in Washington, D.C. as Special Counsel to United States Senator Bob Graham. Larry has worked for several firms throughout his legal career in Tampa including Holland & Knight (on two separate occasions), StaggHardy and Akerman Senterfitt. He is now retired from the practice of law and concentrates on alternative dispute resolution providing mediation, arbitration and other services to the profession.
